Ingushetia: indictee in Magomed Evloev's murder case sentenced to 2 years in colony-settlement

Judge Murat Tungoev from the Karabulak City Court has sentenced Ibragim Evloev, accused of murdering Magomed Evloev, owner of the oppositional website "Ingushetia.Ru", to two years of imprisonment in a colony-settlement. Magomed Evloev's family is going to appeal against the verdict.

Let us remind you that the prosecution asked to sentence Ibragim Evloev, former security head of the Interior Minister of Ingushetia, right to these two years of colony, while his defence asked to acquit him. The victim's family asked the court to send the criminal case to additional investigation.

The defendant Ibragim Evloev was not present today at the announcement of the verdict, as well as at the other sessions of the court, which is his legitimate right. The prosecution party said that they were completely satisfied with the verdict, as reported by the "Interfax". Victim's relatives have also ignored the session, the "Gazeta.Ru" writes.

The victim's family was represented by Magomed Gandarov. He said that Magomed Evloev's family did not agree with the verdict; and after consultations with the victim's father, he would start preparing the appeal. The lawyer did not exclude address to the European Court.

Let us note here that before the session a source from the Karabulak Court said that "most likely, Ibragim will get 2-3 years of conditional imprisonment, or up to one year of colony-settlement," as reported by the website "Ingushetia.Org". According to Yakhya Evloev, Magomed's father, Judge Tungoev confessed to him that he had received a telephone call from Musa Medov, former Interior Minister, who asked him not to punish his nephew.
