In Dagestan, 20 orphans receive individual flats
On November 10, Mayor of Makhachkala Said Amirov presented documents on new flats to 20 orphans and children, who live without parental care. The help in buying and repairing the flats was rendered by the city administration and local entrepreneurs.
The flats are in one of the new houses built near Lazurny Bereg, a future city-satellite of Makhachkala.
According to Mr Amirov, the capital of Dagestan now registers 271 children-orphans aged over 18, who remained without parental care and need housing.
"The money that arrived from the republic's budget is certainly insufficient for just coming and accommodating in these flats. We had to make repairs and equip the flats from the municipal budget having spent more than three millions roubles; and we were assisted by our businessmen-sponsors," said the Mayor.
The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that two children-orphans filed complaints to the prosecutor's office of Makhachkala of passiveness of the officials of the Department for the Republic Dagestan of the Federal Service of Court Marshals (FSCM), who failed to take steps to enforce the decision of the Sovietskiy District Court of Makhachkala of April 12, 2006, obliging the administration of Makhachkala to provide the two applicants with housing under the waiting list of children-orphans and children remaining without parental care.
"By the results of the check conducted by the public prosecutor of the city, 20 claims were sent to the court on the obligation of the Makhachkala administration to provide flats to children-orphans and children living without parental care according to the waiting list. The public prosecutor's applications were considered and satisfied by the court in full," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the prosecutor's office.
