Experts to teach Volgograd peasants how to use manure energy

Employees of the Volgograd Centre for Power Efficiency plan to build and test a biogas installation on the basis of the breeding farm located in the Volgograd Region for converting the animals' manure into useful energy.

"So far, it's just a project," Tatiana Palmina from the press service of the administration of the Volgograd Region said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "But we already have a working group in place for implementing the first project stipulated by the 2009-2012 regional programme on biogas installations."

The working group has already studied the available theoretical materials, the experience of using similar equipment in the Republic of Belarus and established contacts with a Ukrainian manufacturer of such installation on the basis of German technology.

The breeding farm, chosen for the experiment, is engaged in breeding cattle and swine. Animals' excrements make about 40,000 tons per year.
