"Memorial" reports another kidnapping in Dagestan

Today in the morning, in the city of Derbent, in the eyes of numerous witnesses, unidentified persons in camouflage and masks kidnapped Sirazhudin Shafiev, born in 1971, a resident of this city.

It happened at about eight in the morning, when Shafiev was on his way home from the kindergarten, where he had brought his child. In the area of the southern bus station of Derbent, in the eyes of numerous witnesses, two cars blocked Sirazhudin's automobile.

Persons in camouflage and masks jumped out of the cars; without presented themselves and showing any documents, they pulled Shafiev out of his car and roughly pushed him into one of their cars. Then, they left in an unknown direction, runs the statement of the HRC "Memorial" that has arrived to the "Caucasian Knot".

Khadizhat, Shafiev's wife, brought her written application to the HRC "Memorial". She asserts that Sirazhudin had no links with the underground or "forest brothers". She added that Shafievs' house is not far from the one of Emirali Magomedov, who was kidnapped and killed in August 2009; her husband had communicated with him from time to time.
