Moskalenko: European Court to consider complaint on case of Politkovskaya's murder soon

The European Court on Human Rights in Strasburg will soon consider on its merits the complaint  on the case of murder of  Anna Politkovskaya, observer of the "Novaya Gazeta" newspaper,  states Karina Moskalenko, lawyer of the deceased journalist's children, at the today's press-conference.

Moskalenko has not mentioned the date when the complaint on the case of Politkovskaya's murder will be considered in Strasburg but she reminds that the complaint was filed "on behalf of all family members" in April 2007.

The lawyer has clarified that the complaint is about "poor efficiency of the investigation, the lack of will to investigate the case, the absence of a real background for the investigation of the case and violation of the victim's rights", reports the "Gazeta.Ru" newspaper.

According to her, the defense considers the complaint to the Strasburg court to be very important because "there is a fantastic concept of positive obligations with regard to the right to life in the European Court".
