Bank account open to help daughter of Natalia Estemirova

Human rights activists have decided to help Lana Estemirova, daughter of their colleague Natalia Estemirova murdered on July 15. A bank account has been opened where volunteers may transfer money for the 15-year-old Lana.

According to Svetlana Gannushkina, chair of "Civil Assistance", the money thus collected is intended to cover the current expenses of Lana, that is "to subsist" the girl.

"We have opened an account. Everyone who wants to put money on it may do so. The money will be used to support Lana's current life. She has to live one year in Russia for getting her school leaving certificate", Gannushkina told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The bank account has been opened to the name of her aunt Svetlana Estemirova, future guardian of Lana Estemirova, points out Gannushkina. Lana's father is dead. Gannushkina expresses hope that money will continuously come to the account until the girl becomes of age.
