Aladashvili: no excuse in Russia to launch war on Georgia

Irakliy Aladashvili, editor-in-chief of the Georgian independent military-analytical magazine "Arsenali", believes that Mikhail Saakashvili's government is not as aggressive now as last August, and Russia has no pretext for war with Georgia.

"Last year Russia had a pretext - Georgia was an aggressor, now, this is not the case. We, on the contrary, are in defence, and we urge Russia through diplomats to leave the occupied territories," Mr Aladashvili said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Many experts predict a new war and even give the date. I receive calls from many parts of the world, and people ask about the probability of a new Russia's war on Georgia. To me, a Georgian, any thought of a new war is horrible," Irakliy Aladashvili confessed.
