Gasoline grows more expensive in Chechnya

Starting the end of June, the Chechnya's fuelling stations see a growth of prices on automobile fuel. On the average, a litre of every car fuel became more expensive by 2-3 roubles (at 1 US dollar = 31 Russian roubles).
As a rule, a fuel price rise in Chechnya automatically entails growth of foodstuffs and essential goods prices. Meanwhile, there are no radical changes in domestic markets; however, people are in a restless wait.

"Usually, as soon as gasoline goes up, all other prices immediately do the same, since most of the goods are imported. Therefore, drivers complain that they spend more on gasoline, sellers - that they have to pay more to drivers, and so on," said Balavdi Yusupov, a resident of Grozny.

"In Ingushetia or in Nalchik same А-95 gasoline is 1.5-2 roubles cheaper than in Grozny. It's not clear to me. Why should people, who live in one country and in one region, pay differently for gasoline?" Idris, a driver of the fixed-route taxi, is indignant.

Spokesmen of the entities engaged in selling motor fuel in Chechnya, promise in the near future to bring gasoline prices down to the average level over the SFD (South Federal District).
