Doctors prepare Evkurov's wounded security to another surgery

The health condition of Ramzan Evkurov, 35, a President's bodyguard who was wounded in the attempt on June 22 remains extremely grave. Today, he will be prepared for repeated surgery.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt about it from the doctors of the Republic's Clinical Hospital, where the militiaman was brought, together with others explosion victims on June 22; because of his grave condition he was not transported to Moscow and is treated locally.

The condition of the Ingush leader is also grave; he has injuries of the skull, thorax and liver. According to the latest data, on June 23 in the evening Evkurov regained consciousness and began reacting to words.

In the context of the attempt, public organizations of Ingushetia have promulgated a statement, emphasized that the public and residents of the region have perceived the incident "with the feeling of strong indignation and as their personal tragedy."

"For the past eight months of his ruling the people of Ingushetia got convinced: for the first time the distressful Ingushetia was awarded with a leader completely adequate to expectations of its people - an open-hearted, selfless, accessible and resolute in the issues honesty, truth and justice," runs the statement disseminated yesterday, on June 23.

Today, the acting President of the Republic of Ingushetia Rashid Gaisanov made his comments on recent messages in certain media quoting "statements of certain experts and journalists about possible introduction in Ingushetia of elements of some external ruling and possible special operations in its territory without coordination with the leaders and law enforcement bodies of Ingushetia". Mr Gaisanov has treated them as "absolutely groundless."

Let us note here that the former president of Ingushetia Ruslan Aushev has expressed his readiness to rule the republic while Yunus-Bek Evkurov is in hospital. In his opinion, it is unreasonable to split power functions in Ingushetia.

The opposition of Ingushetia insists on holding an extraordinary congress of the Ingush people in the context of the recent attempt on the President. The opposition also blames the local power agencies for failing to ensure due safety of Yunus-Bek Evkurov.
