Court extends custody for defendants in the case on Nalchik attack

Today, the Supreme Court of Kabardino-Balkaria has extended the custody term for the defendants in the criminal case dealing with the events on October 13, 2005, in Nalchik by three more months.

The court argued that defendants are accused of grave and especially grave crimes and can influence the witnesses. With account of these and other circumstances, the court has decided to extend their custody term till September 27, 2009.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 19 many defendants moved petitions to release them under recognizance not to leave or to use home arrest to them. Most of them referred to health problems as the main argument.
