Oppositionists who spent night in cages beaten in Tbilisi centre

Today in the morning, near to buildings of State Chancellery and Department for Constitutional Safety of Georgia's MIA, several oppositionists, who spent the night in iron cells (cages) symbolizing transformation of Georgia into police state, were beaten. The opposition believes that the MIA was involved in this incident.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a similar incident happened on June 15, when unknown persons attacked the "city of cells" and dozens of oppositionists were injured.

As reported by "Interfax" with reference to Bidzina Gudzhabidze, one of the leaders of the opposition, at dawn a group of strangers attacked the oppositionists and violently beat them. "This was surely organized by MIA bosses, who have recently scaled up repressions against our supporters," said Ms Gudzhabidze.
