Dzhussoev: ecologists' claims against gas pipeline built in South Ossetia are groundless
Albert Dzhussoev, director general of the "Stroyprogress" Company, has stated that ecologists' accusations of his company, engaged in laying the Tskhinvali-Dzuarikau gas pipeline, are groundless, as before the construction the object of international value had undergone all the required numerous checks.
"Prior the builders start their work, the project is coordinated and examination by 'Gazprom'. In the course of this coordination, different specialists - ecologists, geologists, etc. - scrutinize the whole length of the object. Therefore, any violation of the environment during construction is out of question," Mr Dzhussoev assured the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The "Caucasian Knot" managed to get the "Conclusions on results of the check of the observance of the current ecological legislation at construction of the Tskhinvali-Dzuarikau gas pipeline" listing numerous violations of the said legislation.
"We've visited 147 instances to collect all the signatures, brought hundreds of drawings to examination; we're building the object for three years already, and now, one month prior to commissioning date, all these claims have appeared," Albert Dzhussoev complained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
As a result of ecological examination, a conclusion was made that "the construction of the gas pipeline is carried out without proper account of peculiarities of the relief, geological composition and possible consequences of breaking the nature balance."
"The gas main is a usual pipe, having diameter of 412 mm, which was welded and dug into a trench one and a half meter deep into soil. It's an ordinary and most usual gas main intended for 150 years of operation. It's not a nuclear bomb. Not a single real specialist should call a gas main to be the cause of technogenic changes and accidents," Mr Dzhussoev has stated.
