Ismail Khamkhoev kidnapped in Ingushetia found dead in Chechnya

Ismail Khamkhoev, 39, kidnapped on April 28 by unidentified persons in Ordzhonikidzevskaya village of Ingushetia, was found dead in Chechnya. He was buried on June 1.

We remind you that on May 4 Ismail Khamkhoev's kidnapping was reported by his wife Lida Khamkhoeva, who filed her written application to the representative office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Nazran asking to help her to find Ismail.

According to Ms Khamkhoeva, her husband was kidnapped on April 28 after midnight by several unknown persons in masks and camouflage. They seized the man, took him out, put into a "Gazel" minivan and took away in an unknown place.

Lida Khamkhoevа had no information about her husband's whereabouts for a month already.

Meanwhile, it was found out that already on the second day after kidnapping Ismail Khamkhoev was found dead with traces of torture near Urus-Martan in Chechnya. For a long time the body was in the morgue; then, local residents buried him. All the time Khamkhoev's relatives kept searching him; they recognized him by the photo of the casualty, exhumed the body and re-buried him, as reported in the today's statement of the "Ingushetia.Org" website.
