In Georgia, more than 10,000 take part in oppositional rally

In Tbilisi, about 10,000 persons demand resignation of President Mikhail Saakashvili in the square in front of the building of the Parliament of Georgia.

"We wish Saakashvili's bloodless resignation; therefore, we'll meet him and try to persuade him. There's no other way, we won't give up, even if Saakashvili's repressive machine will be used against us," said Levan Gachechiladze, one of the leaders of the opposition, addressing the rally.

On May 8, the Georgian opposition failed to agree, at the meeting with David Bakradze, Speaker of the Parliament, about the opposition's meeting with the President, as the "Interfax" Agency reports.

Gubaz Sanikidze, one of the leaders of the oppositional "National Forum", has noted that the opposition has only one demand: "leaders of the oppositional parties should immediately meet Mikhail Saakashvili without any preconditions and clarify everything," the GHN Agency reports.
