Number of Dagestan residents poisoned with potable water is 26

In Dagestan, as of morning of May 4, the number of residents of Novy Sulak settlement, brought to the Kizil-Yurt city hospital with preliminary diagnosis of sharp intestinal disease, is 26 persons, 11 children among them.

"The health status of all the patients is stable satisfactory. Their discharge from the hospital will depend on results of bacteriological tests," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the hospital.

As reported by the Southern District Centre of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies, the water pipeline that supplies water to residents of Zheleznodorozhnaya, Komarova and Dagestan Streets in Novy Sulak was damaged, and the supplied water could get polluted. Now the line is cut-off, and water is brought to residents by tankers.

According to the data received by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent at the Southern Regional Centre, "repairs in Novy Sulak are over, well No. 2 and water pipe were filled in with chlorinated water for disinfection; the water will be kept there till 6:00 p.m. on May 4."
