Examination results presented at trial on Politkovskaya's murder
The state prosecution at the process considering the murder case of Anna Politkovskaya has presented the results of comparative examination of video records and the pistol, by which the journalist was killed.
On December 2, the court watched the video record on external surveillance cameras. The record had depicted the car of suspected killer and the killer himself. The defendants Makhmudov brothers have evidenced that they used a similar car.
Today, the accusation has stated that the examination had established that the camera installed near the house where Politkovskaya lived had recorded the VAZ-2104 car that belonged to the defendants - Makhmudov brothers.
Also, the accusation has presented the results of examination of the pistol, by which Politkovskaya was killed. The comparative examination has shown that the fibres found on the external surface of the pistol are identical with the fibres of the body of Makhmudovs' VAZ-2104 car, as the public prosecutor has reported.
According to the RIA "Novosti", today at the trial three witnesses were interrogated. The state prosecution tries to find out the owner of the blue-green VAZ-2104, in which, according to the investigation, the killer arrived to Politkovskaya's house. It follows from the materials of the case that one of Makhmudov brothers was the driver of the car.
The car was registered to their distant relative Ahmed Isaev, who has confirmed this fact today to the court.
