Musaev: big political boss is a figure in Politkovskaya's case
Yesterday, on November 26, ahead of the sitting of the Moscow Regional Military Court, where the murder of the observer of the "Novaya Gazeta" newspaper Anna Politkovskaya is now considered, Murad Musaev, advocate of one of the defendants, had stated that some big Russian politician is a figurant in the case.
According to Musaev, this fact was fixed by one of the inspectors. However, the name of this politician is not mentioned in the case files, the advocate told the "Nezavisimaya Gazeta" (Independent Paper) correspondent.
Today, the Moscow Regional Military Court has started another session on Anna Politkovskaya's murder case. Her children - Ilya and Vera - were interrogated. They said about threats that their mother had been receiving.
In the course of today's interrogation, Ilya Politkovskiy has reported that already five years before the murder his mother had told him about the threats that she received. "Basically, Mother tried to protect us against such information and shared it with the trustworthy people from her paper," the "Interfax" quotes Ilya as saying.
Vera Politkovskaya said that one week before the crime her mother had noticed certain strange people wondering in the doorway and asked her to take care.
