Krasnodar territorial authorities fail to meet residents of Imereti Meadow

Another attempt to start dialogue between the residents of the Imereti Meadow of Sochi and the authorities of Krasnodar Territory about the terms of demolition of dwelling houses with the aim to get the city ready for the Olympiad has failed. The meeting was pre-planned for November 12, but it failed for the absence of power representatives.

On November 10, a group of Imereti residents addressed the first deputy head of the Territorial Department for Olympiad-2014 Larissa Zavedeeva with their proposals to the authorities. They brought more than 30 applications offering to conclude agreements on land alienation on the following conditions: "First a new house in another land plot - then resettling".

The residents were attentively listened to and even promised to organize a meeting in the form of an open public dialogue aimed at answering resettlers' questions and defining the format of joint work.

It was decided that the "Union of Imereti Residents", as initiator of the dialogue, will lead the meeting, which was due to take place on November 12 at 5:00 p.m. But at the last moment Ms Zavedeeva has bluntly refused to talk to people.

Several dozens of residents rallied in the building of the Adler District administration; however, none of the district bosses went down to talk to them, explain why the meeting had been ignored by the "territorial Olympiad heads", and apologize.

Meanwhile, according to Zavedeeva, the condition "First a new house in another land plot - then resettling" was not just perceived, but is already in work.

A decision was made to use the territory of 11.5 hectares, directly adjoining the Imereti Bay, for building a dwelling settlement instead of the hotel complex, which had been planned earlier.
