Authorities of South Ossetia report kidnapping of a North Ossetian native by Georgian special services

In Tskhinval, at night of June 30, Georgian special services kidnapped Valery Tadtaev, 32, a citizen of the Russian Federation, a native of North Ossetia, runs a statement of the State Committee for Information and Press of South Ossetia.

According to the information, Valery Tadtaev, who is permanently living in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, came to Tskhinval to visit his relatives living in the Mirnaya Street. At night of June 30, he went out of the house to have a smoke and disappeared without any traces.

"The excited Valery's relatives knew nothing about his fate until today in the afternoon, when they received a telephone call from Tbilisi SIZO. It was Valery himself calling, who said that he was detained and that Georgian law enforcement bodies had accused him of an allegedly illegal crossing the border," runs the statement of the State Committee for Information and Press of the non-recognized Republic of South Ossetia. Further destiny of Tadtaev is unknown.

In the opinion of Ossetian expert Andrei Bitarov, Georgian special services have become more active on the conflict territory aiming to attain two main goals - to destabilize the situation in South Ossetia and to prevent the peacemaking forces from Russia and the RNO-Alania to carry out their direct duties.
