Case on the murder of First Channel reporter Shurpaev delivered to court of Tajikistan

The materials of the murder case of Ilyas Shurpaev, reporter of Channel One and a native of Dagestan, have been transferred by inquiry bodies of Tajikistan to the court.

The charge has been presented to Masrurjhon Yatimov and Nadzmiddin Mukhiddinov under two articles: deliberate murder from mercenary inclinations, with the aim of robbery; and robbery with the aim of acquisition at a large scale committed by an organized group.

We remind you that Russia did not insist that Tajikistan should extradite Shurpaev's killers, but sent the case materials to the Republic for criminal prosecution of the suspects.

The accused persons are under threat of 20 years or life imprisonment, since in 2003 Tajikistan introduced moratorium on death penalty, the Life.ru reports with reference to law enforcement bodies of Tajikistan.
