30-60 militants attack Benoy-Vedeno in Chechnya

At night on June 13, some 30-60 militants entered the village of Benoy-Vedeno, Nozhai-Yurt District of Chechnya, and for several hours kept the settlement under their full control, a source in the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya has informed.

"The militants have burnt burn five dwelling houses, which belonged to employees of law enforcement bodies and representatives of local power, and two cars of militiamen's families," the source has told.
According to preliminary data, the militants killed three persons - father and two sons Esaevs. Besides, the militants seized several persons and took away with them as hostages; one of them is the former administration head of the village.

According to one of Chechen separatists' websites, in the attack of the militants on the village 26 employees of law enforcement bodies of Chechnya were killed. 11 persons were captured. 20 houses were burnt down. It is reported that no militants were lost, however some of them were wounded.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the raid on Benoy-Vedeno was commanded by Usman Muntsigov (also known as Shatral), 33, who is now under federal search for committing a number of grave crimes.
