Committee in defence of Trepashkin is indignant at slandering his advocate

The Public Committee in defence of political prisoner Mikhail Trepashkin has expressed indignation at slander information in relation to Lyubov Kosik, defender of the ex-FSB officer, disseminated by Trepashkin's public defender Sergey Kuznetsov.

This is the topic of the statement of the Committee, delivered by its chairman Mikhail Kriger to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The application of the Public Committee in defence of M. Trepashkin runs that on October 5 Trepashkin rejected the suspicions against his advocate that had been widespread on his behalf.

"Lyubov Borisovna has been long contributing patiently and self-denyingly to the defence of Mikhail Trepashkin, revealing surprising features of humanity and kindness," the statement of human rights activists runs.

The members of the Public Committee have expressed their condemnation "to S. V. Kuznetsov, author of the slanderous article, who calls himself an employee of the Urals Branch of Radio Liberty." "Editor of the Radio Irina Lagunina has informed us that Sergey Kuznetsov's website svoboda.ural.ru is a result of the theft of their old website and has nothing to do with Radio Liberty in Ekaterinburg," they have added.

"Thus, the slander on Lyubov Borisovna Kosik is another link in chain of intrigues against Mikhail Trepashkin <...> with the aim of unsatisfactory for the convict outcome of the cassation process and final isolation of Mikhail Trepashkin from the outside world," the activists of the Committee in Defence of Trepashkin have expressed their suspicions already in relation to Sergey Kuznetsov himself.
