Court accuses Shepel of breaching the law when investigating Beslan terror act

The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation has passed a special court ruling to the name of Russia's Prosecutor General on the fact of breaching the law by Nikolai Shepel, former deputy Prosecutor General, while investigating the Beslan terror act case, the "Interfax" reports.

Besides, the Supreme Court upheld on Tuesday the life sentence verdict to Nurpashi Kulaev for taking part in Beslan act of terrorism. As from December 26, the sentence to Kulaev on serving life imprisonment has come into its legal force.

Mr. Shepel was dismissed from the position of deputy Prosecutor General in July 2006, the NEWSru.com reminds.

As a result of militants' attack on school No. 1 of Beslan on September 1-3, 2004, 1128 persons were taken hostage. Totally, in the course of terrorists' actions, 334 hostages were killed, including 186 children. 728 more victims were injured.
