Russian State Duma deputies want to exempt terror victims from tax on aid
A bill was submitted to the State Duma assuming to exempt victims of terror acts from paying taxes on the help that they receive in kind. Its appearance was caused by the scandal around children-victims of Beslan.
The bill was brought by deputies from "Edinaya Rossiya" first vice-speaker Oleg Morozov, chairman of the committee for budget and taxes Yuri Vasiliev and his deputies Andrei Makarov and Gleb Khor.
These MPs found it necessary to react to "the broadly known facts, when tax bodies tried to collect taxes from parents of minor victims of Beslan terror act on those incomes, which they "had received" from NGOs who had paid for children's education, as the "Vesti.Ru" reports.
"It's not only a victory of terror victims, but a great plus to Russian legislators," Susanna Dudieva, leader of the Committee "Beslan Mothers" told the "Gazeta" correspondent. "Should the bill be adopted, it will manifest proper steps made by the state in relation to terror victims."
