Georgia: a Georgian kidnapped in Abkhazia

According to Georgian sources, on April 7, a Georgian named Gvandzhi Kuprava, 65, was kidnapped from Sida village, Gali District. The kidnappers asked for a ransom, and then took Kuprava in an unknown direction.

According to Kuprava's family members, should the ransom is not paid, they threaten to kill him, as the GHN reports.

The staff of the government of Abkhazia in charge of the Gali direction reports that neither the Abkhazian part nor Russian troops do anything to search Kuprava. Only his family members try to find him. They have addressed for help to international organizations, as "Our Abkhazia" reports.

The Abkhazian part has refrained from any comments.
