Militiaman wounded by land mine explosion in southwest of Chechnya

A Chechen militiaman was wounded by explosion of a fougasse (land mine) planted under the bottom of his car. It happened in the evening on April 7 in the foothill Urus-Martan District of the republic. The victim was hospitalized.

"Last night in Goity village, a bomb exploded under the bottom of a 'UAZ' van driven by an employee of the Leninskiy ROVD of the city of Grozny. As a result of the explosion, the militiaman received fragmental wounds and was hospitalized," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at law enforcement bodies of Chechnya.

The fact is investigated. It has been established that the explosion happened in the motion of the car. In the opinion of experts, a self-made bomb could be attached by unknown malefactors to the car bottom. "Similar incidents were registered, for example, in the neighbouring Ingushetia. It is not excluded that militants will try to introduce this tactics in other regions," a militia officer said.

According to his story, the victim of the explosion was not at performance of his duties.
