NGOs of North Ossetia state poor care of invalids

Children's and youth public organizations, movements and associations of North Ossetia urge to pay more attention, when building objects of social infrastructure, to problems of limited capacity people - wheelchair invalids.

On Friday, March 27, the leaders of the above organizations wrote an appeal to the Republic's Ministry of Construction and Architectural Policy asking to oblige the developers to equip the newly-built objects with ramps for wheelchairs and to not accept objects without such ramps being provided.

"Invalids have no access to banks (probably, bankers believe that this category are not their clients), barber's shops, restaurants and even state institutions. There is an impression that their owners are absolutely deaf to needs of invalids. Even if they have ramps, it is impossible to use them," the authors of the appeal write.

In this context, the NGOs call to address the existing problems and provide, as far as possible, the necessary conditions for wheelchair invalids, who will be able, as the appeal marks, to make good for the society with their labour and active live position.
