Choltaev: Sulim Yamadaev's murder is no benefit for Chechen President

Murder of Sulim Yamadaev, ex-commander of the "Vostok" (East) GRU's special battalion, is absolutely unfavourable for Ramzana Kadyrov, as political scientist Zaindi Choltaev thinks, since now President of Chechnya tries to position himself as a peacemaker, or a person capable to unite the whole nation.

We remind you that Sergey Krasnogor, Russian Consul in United Arab Emirates, has confirmed the information that Sulim Yamadaev, ex-commander of the "Vostok" special battalion, perished in Dubai. Earlier, it was reported that because of the attempt on March 28 on the Hero of Russia in Dubai a Russia's native was arrested, but the exact information about the incident was absent. According to the Consul, the relatives of the casualty have confirmed Yamadaev's death, but the diplomat saw neither his passport nor other official documents. According to the BBC, a confirmation of Sulim's death was also issued by the Dubai police.

"The today's moment is indeed very improper from the viewpoint that the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime is planned to be cancelled, and former separatists are invited to the republic; all this indicates Kadyrov could not be interested in this development," said the source to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Mr Choltaev explains that Sulim Yamadaev could have compromising evidences against Kadyrov: "For quite a long period Yamadaevs were in very good relations with Kadyrovs; the former were a sort of a combat component of the latter, especially during the rule of Kadyrov senior."

According to Zaindi Choltaev, some third persons could be interested in the death of Sulim Yamadaev - the most persistent Yamadaevs' enemies could be the people who had lost their relatives as a result of Yamadaevs' actions. "It could be a sort of a symbiosis - the authorities could help such people to liquidate the Yamadaevs," he said.

According to Mr Choltaev, a version exists that supporters of terrorist Abu Al Valid for whose liquidation Sulim became a Hero of Russia could be interested in his murder.
