Prosecutor's Office of Kabardino-Balkaria reveals roughest violations of rights of pupils of boarding school in Nartan

Administration of Boarding School No. 5 in Nartan village, Chegem District of Kabardino-Balkaria, is roughly breaching the legislation on accommodation of children-orphans and children deprived of parents' care.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told about it by Senior Counsellor in Justice Zareta Datserkhoeva, Senior Assistant to the Public Prosecutor of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic for supervising law enforcement in relation to minors and youth.

According to her story, at the moment of prosecutor's inspection, two schoolgirls were absent in the boarding school. The inspection found out that the missing girls, aged 15 and 16, were pregnant. Wishing to conceal this fact, director of the boarding school said that they had been hospitalized to the Republic's Hospital - one with diagnosis "pancreatitis", and the other - with "sprain of an ankle joint".

Also, it turned out according to a pupil of the boarding school that in the period from April to August 2008 an employee of the boarding school made three violent actions of sexual character against him. However, the director of the boarding school, when informed about these incidents, not only failed to take measures, but also refused to give written explanations, having treated the fact as "insinuation".

According to Zareta Datserkhoeva, the director of the boarding school set up a working group for holding a service inquiry; and three days after his conversation with a prosecutor, the minor who had informed about rapes, overturned his previous evidences.

"Besides, the inspection revealed violations of sanitary-and-epidemiologic standards in the canteen of the boarding school," the source stated in her conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. An administrative fine was imposed on the director of the boarding school for the admitted violations.
