Dagestan: utility gas explosion kills two persons

On Wednesday, March 11, utility gas blew up in a lean to a dwelling house killing two daughters of the owner, both Group II invalids.

We remind you that on June 21, 2008, a similar explosion of utility gas completely destroyed a cafe building in the Dagestan city of Babayurt. As a result of that explosion nobody suffered, as there were no visitors or employees in the cafe.

The yesterday's accident took place in the village of Gerga, Kayakent District of the Republic. The explosion has destroyed a kitchen attached to the stone one-level house, as the "Gazeta.Ru" reports.

A source in law enforcement bodies of Dagestan, which is quoted by the "Rosbalt", said that according to preliminary data the cause of the explosion was in violation of a gas cooker's safety regulations.

Let us note here that four persons seriously suffered on May 7, 2008, at an explosion of utility gas in Buinaksk. They were members of one family - husband, wife and two children.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 26, 2008, three members of one family, including a girl of seven, suffered as a result of a utility gas explosion in the Karabudakhkent District of Dagestan.

On January 11, 2008, in Aksay village, Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, as a result of a utility gas explosion a man was lost in one of the households, a 27-year-old resident of the house; the house was damaged.
