Cutting electricity supply to "Azersu" threatens to leave several cities of Azerbaijan without water

The company named "Sumgaiytelectricshebeke" promises to stop, on February 16 at 3:00 p.m. Baku time, its electricity supply to the pump stations of the Joint-Stock Company "Azersu", which is delivering drinking and technical water to Baku, Sumgait and other regions of Azerbaijan.

The interruption of powering the pump stations in the Dzheiranbatan Water Body is caused by the fact that the "Azersu" has a great debt to the "Sumgaiytelectricshebeke", as the edition named "Trend Capital" writes.

"Earlier, in December we agreed to increase the payment rate, but this January we again started to decrease it. The 'Azersu' would not follow the agreements, therefore we had to do this step," said Anar Guliev, head of the press service of the "Sumgaiytelectricshebeke".

The "Day.Az" reports that for the period from October 1, 2002, to January 31, 2009, the "Azersu" water system objects accumulated the indebtedness for using the electric power in the sum of 47,101,064 manats.
The "Azersu" gave no comments on the situation.
