Pliev: commission under Ingushetian President will work without Mutsolgov

Self-withdrawal of Magomed Mutsolgov, leader of the "MAShR" Human Rights Organization, out of the commission for defence of human rights under President of Ingushetia will have no impact on its further work, as Musa Pliev, adviser of President of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov, has announced.

"There was no special need for Mutsolgov to join the commission," Mr Pliev continued. "Defence of people's rights can be exercised independently. As to his substitute, there are plenty of volunteers to join the commission."

At the same time, Azamat Nalgiev, chairman of the commission under the President, learnt about Mutsolgov's withdrawal only from the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "I know nothing about his decision, and Magomed Mutsolgov told nothing about it to me," said Mr Nalgiev. "Naturally, it's up to him whether to work in the commission or not. Nobody ever forced him there."

The "Caucasian Knot" has informed that the well-known human rights activist Magomed Mutsolgov has quitted the Public Commission in protest against the regional law on local self-governing adopted on February 19: the law failed to account the Ingush villages of the Prigorodny District. Another Mutsolgov's argument was the murder on February 17 of local resident Musa Daurbekov, in which, in the opinion of Daurbekov's relatives, special agents could be involved.

"Unfortunately, with the change of President of Ingushetia, the situation with observance of human rights is not better," Magomed Mutsolgov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. "Special operations, in which innocent people suffer, continue. 25 employees of law enforcement bodies from other republics have been attached to each Ingush RUVD (District Interior Unit). 31 other officers were attached to the Ministry. And all these servicemen do not obey directly the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia! They disrespect local traditions, continue to press on the population and execute lawlessness. They should go home."
