Case on mass disorders in Ingushetia sent to court

The Supreme Court of Ingushetia has received a criminal case initiated against supposed participants and organizer of mass disorders that took place in the republic in January 2008.

Maksharip Aushev, Musa Aushev and Ruslan Khazbiev are accused of committing crimes covered by Articles 212, 318 and 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of and participation in mass disorders, use of violence against officials and illegal circulation of weapons").

"The investigation has established that Maksharip Aushev, together with a number of unidentified persons, organized, with the aim to destabilize the situation and change the existing top leadership of the Republic Ingushetia, mass disorders on January 26, 2008, in Nazran, accompanied by violence, pogroms, arsons, destruction of property and rendering armed resistance to power agents," runs the statement of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, Maksharip Aushev, Musa Aushev and Ruslan Khazbiev were direct participants of mass disorders, which resulted in various bodily injuries of eight law enforcers.

According to the Office, as a result of arsons and pogroms, the property of the editorial board of the nationwide newspaper "Serdalo" was destroyed to the total sum over 3.5 million roubles, and of the ASSA Hotel - to the sum of over 4 million roubles, as the "Kommersant" writes.
