Cyprus to launch its consulate in Krasnodar Territory

Cyprus has stated its intention to open a general consulate in Krasnodar. This possibility was announced on February 12 by Sergey Lavrov, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Apart from Krasnodar, the government of Cyprus is ready to open its consulates in Ekaterinburg and Samara. Now, Cyprus has two diplomatic representative offices in Russia: in Moscow and St-Petersburg.

"We support this initiative and are ready to render the necessary assistance to make it possible for the Russian citizens who live in these regions to feel more comfortable in receiving their visas for visiting Cyprus," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Mr Lavrov as saying.

Cyprus addressed Russia on opening of the new consulates last year. With the help of them the country hopes to attract more Russian tourists, the RBC Agency reports.
