Commander of Azerbaijani Air Forces assassinated in Baku

Today, at about 8 a.m. in Baku, General-Lieutenant Rail Rzaev, Commander of the Air Forces and Air Defence Troops of the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan was killed.

It has become known to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent from well-informed sources that the killer shot the general in his head, when the latter went out of his house and was ready to get into the car. Mr Rzaev was brought to the military hospital, however, doctors failed to save him.

It is not known so far what firearm was used by the criminal for the murder. The inquiry has concluded that it was a professional killer, since the district, where the general lived, is strongly guarded.

Rail Rzaev was buried today into the 2nd Alley of Honourable Burials in Baku.
