Ingushetia: Voznesenskaya villagers report kidnapping of Meskhetian Turk by power agents
In Voznesenskaya village, Malgobek District of Ingushetia, power agents have kidnapped a local resident, Meskhetian Turk, and took him away in an unknown direction. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by local residents. The incident happened at about 800 p.m.
Yesterday, power agents surrounded a whole district of the village, where mainly Chechens and Meskhetian Turks live, and conducted illegal searches.
According to the villagers, power agents had decided, for some unknown reason, that Wahhabite lived there, and started hunting on them. Besides, residents believe that there are provokers among them, engaged in slander and denunciations to the militia; this has resulted in today's kidnapping of the Meskhetian Turk.
It was not the first raid of power agents over the village. Local residents are worried and afraid of further violent encroachments on their rights.
We remind you that in the period from January 1 to December 31, 2008, as far as the "Caucasian Knot" is aware, at least 130 persons were kidnapped by unidentified persons in Northern Caucasus, of them 24 persons in Ingushetia, 42 in Chechnya and at least 60 - in Dagestan.
