Chechnya will try the man who killed his daughter for misbehaviour
The Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya has delivered to the court the criminal case opened against a resident of the Republic, aged 56, who shot dead his daughter of 33 in autumn of last year. He is accused not only of the murder, but also of illegal purchase of firearms.
In the course of the investigation it was established that the defendant "committed the crime after one of his friends showed him a video made by a mobile phone of his adult daughter with a man in intimate situation."
Then, the assassin surrendered to law enforcement bodies, confessed of his crime and handed over his firearm.
According to a MIA source, the murderer is under threat of 6-15 years of freedom deprivation, while illegal purchase and storages of firearms is punishable by deprivation of freedom for up to three years or arrest for up to six months. "In view of the Chechen mentality, we can understand the culprit, but never acquit," the militiaman has stated.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that several months ago bodies of several young women were found in different districts of the Chechen capital. Among one of the possible reasons of those murders an act of punishment committed by their close relatives for misbehaviour was mentioned.
"Investigation of young woman's murder underway in Chechnya," "Kadyrov: no traditions are excuse for women's murderers," "The seventh killed woman identified in Chechnya," "Chechen residents concerned with the murder of seven young women."
