In Dagestan, court marshals evict "Charitable Women's Hospital"

Today, court marshals and officials of the Agency for Managing State Property of the Republic of Dagestan (former Ministry of Property and Land Relations) arrived in the "Charitable Women's Hospital" located in Makhachkala.

The marshals should enforce the decision of the Arbitration Court of Dagestan on eviction of the "Charitable Women's Hospital" out of all the occupied premises at No. 3 Ermoshkina Street in Makhachkala.

The doctors who were in the hospital at the moment have asked the marshals to give them time for moving the equipment and the stocks out of the hospital themselves.

The negotiations between the court marshals, officials of the Agency and personnel of the hospital lasted for about an hour. The Agency representative telephoned to his boss Rayudin Yusufov, however, the latter ordered to start eviction immediately, without any delay.

Currently, the court marshals are making inventory of the property belonging to the hospital. According to their estimates, the process can take 2-3 days. Then, all property will be taken away to the temporary warehouse. The transportation and storage should be paid for by the hospital, and if it has no funds, part of the stored property will be sold to cover the debts.

"As much as we could, we tried to postpone the enforcement of the judgement to enable the personnel of the hospital to take the equipment and all the necessary things out by themselves. We just make our work, and the eviction decision shall be enforced," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the Department of Court Marshals of the Sovietskiy District of Makhachkala.

"The charitable hospital is a must," said Khalimat Efendieva, one of the hospital doctors. "It is the only one of this sort in Russia. We treated not only Dagestanians. We had patients from the Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories and Tyumen Region. Women came here exhausted, tired and sick, but left the hospital nicely-looking and healthy. They ask us: where should we go now?"

"We said, 'If you need this territory, take it away, but give us other premises, anywhere in the city'," said Dagmara Magomedova, a volunteer of the "Charitable Women's Hospital". "Many volunteers come here and help with what they can. It is nice to hear that there are Dagestanians who ask not to give their names but come to help here with money or foodstuffs."

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt at the "Charitable Women's Hospital" that attempts to take hold of the territory of hospital had been undertaken before, when the Republic was governed by Magomedali Magomedov, Chairman of the State Council of Dagestan. "We remember that Magomedov gave his personal order not to touch the hospital, and all attempts were cut short. We are grateful to him for that," doctors say. But now nobody in the republic can pacify the overgrown appetites of local bureaucrats."
