South Ossetia accuses Georgia of breaching Medvedev-Sarkozy plan

The South-Ossetian Ministry of Defence reports that Georgia has deployed its special troops near the border with South Ossetia, which is a direct violation of the Medvedev-Sarkozy agreement reached after the Russian-Georgian August military conflict.

The Ministry asserts that "some 60 special fighters have been brought to the area of Perevi village right near the border with South Ossetia."

On December 12, Georgian MIA reported that Georgian policemen had entered the village of Perevi, the Sachkher District of Georgia, and took control over the village. On December 11, Russian forces started to leave the block-post in Perevi village and yesterday in the morning this post was cancelled completely.

"We are concern of the activity of the Georgian party in the vicinity of Perevi village. The situation in the district is used by official Tbilisi to escalate tension in frontier areas with South Ossetia. The Dzhava District, its every village, every gorge and mountain footpath are our national relics, and we shall let nobody to desecrate out land," the website of the State Committee for Information and Press of South Ossetia quotes the statement of the press service of the Dzhava District.

"It is a direct violation of the Medvedev-Sarkozy agreements. Also, it should be noted that the EU observers keep their eyes closed on the fact," the "Interfax" adds.
