Security Service of Ukraine: arms deliveries to Georgia were lawful

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has re-confirmed the legality of arms deliveries to Georgia, treating the opposing statements as slander.

"SSU experts, as members of inquiry commissions, took part in all audits and have already presented their conclusions... Slanderous statements about allegedly illegal deliveries of arms to Georgia have been refuted by documents," runs the message of the SSU's press service.

The SSU has added that "the experts are clearly indicating that in relation to Georgia there are no restrictions on arms deliveries."

Let us remind you that earlier President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili had assured that not a single Ukrainian had fought on Georgia's side during the armed conflict in South Ossetia this August.

Before that, the Russian party had stated that Ukrainians took part in the military conflict in the Caucasus.

On November 18, the inspectors of the Security Service of Ukraine, who were investigating the criminal case initiated after the statements made by Valery Konovalyuk, MP from the "Party of the Regions", on illegal deliveries by Ukraine of arms to Georgia, stated that they did not find any violations in Ukraine's deliveries of military goods to Georgia.
