Exhibition of photos taken at South-Ossetian war opens in Moscow

On October 28, the Moscow-based State Central Museum of Modern Russian History opened a show of photos named "The Habitat" and dedicated to the military conflict in South Ossetia.

The exposition includes works of the photographers made during the warfare. There are also photos showing peaceful life of Ossetians.

In total, the exhibition includes 70 works of the RIA "Novosti" photographers. At the entrance to the showroom, one can watch videos with interviews with the authors of the photos.

"It was especially horrible when father showed the tomb of his daughter whom he had buried right in the yard of his house. People had to bury their relatives in the yards, especially in the first days of the war," recollects Maxim Avdeev, 21, for whom this five-day Caucasian war became the first experience of extreme photographing.

After October 29, the exhibition will be open for the public and last till November 9.
