Medvedev ratifies treaties with Abkhazia and South Ossetia

President of Russia Dmitri Medvedev has signed the ratification laws of the treaties on friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the Kremlin press service said today.

Meanwhile, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has stated today, addressing the conference on humanitarian law in St-Petersburg, that Georgian authorities tried to solve the problem of South Ossetia under Stalin's principle "no person - no problem". As he said, Georgia had attacked peaceful citizens, and Russia had to defend them, the "Interfax" reports.
