Dagestan authorities offer partnership to Turkish businessman
President of Dagestan Mukhu Aliev has discussed with the president of the Turkish holding named "Yayla Turk" Yasmin Zakeria setting up of agricultural processing enterprises in the territory of Dagestan.
"Being aware of your interest in agriculture, I want to tell you that this is one of significant and dynamically progressing branches of Republic's economy," President Aliev told his Turkish guest.
In his turn, the Turkish businessman said that he owns processing enterprises in Europe, including Germany and Turkey, the RIA "Dagestan" reports. "I'll be happy to do something good for Dagestan," the businessman has emphasized.
Dagestan officials view the updating and modernization of food and processing branches as their main task fulfilled for a number of years. The Republic's agriculture experiences colossal disproportion. The agrarian farms notable for high growth rates lack processing, storage and transportation facilities. For example, they have nowhere to sell their wool, and it gets rotten. Leather is taken out to Turkey for nothing.
Dagestan is number one in Russia by sheep heads and number three - by cattle. In spite of the fact that the Republic's animal husbandry is ahead of other Russian regions, it still lacks processing enterprises.
