Moscow militia reports prevention of mass fight with participation of Caucasian natives

On Sunday, October 19, militiamen prevented a mass fight in the northeast of Moscow; there are no victims, a source in the Moscow City Department of Internal Affairs (GUVD) has reported today.

We remind you that the GUVD is still investigating the fight, which burst out on June 5 in the Manezh Square in the centre of Moscow also with participation of natives from the Caucasus. According to different sources, some 10-40 persons were the participants.

According to the source, about 100 persons had planned to take part in yesterday's fight between Moscow residents and natives from the Caucasus.

On Sunday, at about 11:00 p.m. Moscow time, reports started to arrive from citizens to militia about skirmishes and fights near the "Orion" cinema in Pilot Babushkin Street and adjoining streets.

The reinforced militia sentries, including OMON (Special Militia) and horsemen, who arrived to the venue, dispersed the mob and detained some 15-20 persons.

According to the militia, two groups of young men, consisting of Moscow residents and natives from the Caucasus, who had settled in the nearest marketplace, planned to clear out their relations in a fight. The RIA "Novosti" reports that the detainees were released drawing up protocols on administrative offences.

No confirmation of this information has arrived from other sources.
