Over two thousand persons take part in "Ossetia accuses" action

Over two thousand persons have taken part in the patriotic action "Ossetia accuses", which was held today in Tskhinvali, as Irina Gagloeva, head of the Committee for Information and Press of South Ossetia, has reported.

"People were active at the rally, a lot of young people came, in total, more than two thousand persons have rallied; we never had it for a long time," the RIA "Novosti" quotes Ms Gagloeva as saying. As she said, the rally listened to eyewitnesses of the events on August 8, 2008.

The rally participants came to the square in Tskhinvali situated at the building of the government of South Ossetia with posters and banners that contained accusations of Georgia of committing genocide against the Ossetian nation. They demanded to bring President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili to international trial.

Rallies are also planned for September 29, 30 and October 2 in Strasbourg, France, during the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), where the agenda comprises the point on events in South Ossetia, the "Vesti - Northern Caucasus" reports.

The participants of the rallies will move particular charges to Georgia of genocide of the Ossetian nation, to Saakashvili - of crimes against humanity, to NATO - of supporting the aggressor, and to the USA - of arming Saakashvili's regime.

  • Two natives of Northern Caucasus injured in shootout near “Wildberries” office in Moscow

  • In Volgograd, court recognizes absence of HIV therapy in prison hospital

    The Central District Court of Volgograd awarded prisoner Ruslan Mitrofan compensation in the amount of 1000 roubles, recognizing that the administration of a prison hospital in Volgograd violated the prisoner’s right to receive medical care by not providing him with an HIV medicine. Meanwhile, Ruslan Mitrofan requested the compensation in the amount of 100,000 roubles.
