Moscow holds "Mistrust Day", dated to anniversary of FSB's exercises in Ryazan

These minutes, the Novopushkinskiy Mini-Park in Moscow is hosting the "Mistrust Day" - a picket dedicated to the ninth anniversary of the "FSB's exercises" held in the city of Ryazan on September 22-23, 1999. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed about it by Mikhail Kriger, the initiator of the action and coordinator of Anti-War Club.

"We grieve over the victims of the tragedies that preceded the 'Ryazan exercises' - the explosions of apartment houses in Moscow, Buinaksk and Volgodonsk, where several hundreds of persons had perished. These terror acts, which had been ascribed by the authorities to Chechen militants, had served the pretext and justification of the second Chechen war," runs the press release of the organizers of the action, namely, the Anti-war Club, editorial board of the VoineNet.Ru website and participants of the every-week picket against the war in the Caucasus held in the Pushkin Square.

"However, the 'Ryazan FSB's exercises', which had been initially presented to the public as a successfully prevented terror act, and announced as exercises some days later, after detention of would-be terrorists, who had turned out to be FSB agents, arouse doubts as to the official version," state the opponents of applying force in Northern Caucasus.

Representatives of these organizations believe that the accident in the Ryazan Novosyolov Street demands a careful investigation since "it gives rise to rather serious suspicions in the address of Russian special agencies."

"Disclosure of the truth only can safeguard us from relapse of terror acts," runs the statement provided by the authors to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
