South Ossetia to hold action "Future of Russia is in mothers' hands"

On August 31, at midday, an all-Russian action under the motto "Future of Russia is in mothers' hands" is to start in the Theatre Square of Tskhinvali with participation of public organizations of North Ossetia and the "Beslan Mothers" Association of Victims of Terror Acts.

The action will begin with the First Forum of Mothers of North and South Ossetia held in the post-war Tskhinvali and end on November 30 on Mothers' Day in the Constantine Palace of St-Petersburg.

The action will pass on the initiative of the International Public Association of the Charitable Fund "Mother", All-Russian Political Party "Yedinaya Rossiya" (United Russia), Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Charitable Fund "Volnoye Delo" (Free Business) and other public organizations under support of the Parliaments of North and South Ossetia and the Ministry of the Republic of South Ossetia-Alania for Nationalities.

Funds "Mother" operate in more than 30 subjects of the Russian Federation and have gathered 15 tons of humanitarian aid for residents of South Ossetia.

"Mother is a sacred notion. Only through respect for one's mother, the very word 'mother', a human reveals his/her genuine image. In Russia, honouring and respect of woman-mother should be lifted up to the level of state policy. Mother, the guard of the household, feels and realizes her great responsibility for the fate of the family, society and country," runs the official website of the Ministry for Nationalities of North Ossetia.
