President of Georgia signs ceasefire agreement

President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili has announced, during his joint press conference with the US State Secretary Condoleezza Rice, that he had signed the ceasefire agreement.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that Condoleezza Rice had brought the peaceful treaty to Tbilisi.

The document in question comprises the six principles of settling the conflicts in Georgia, which were agreed by Russian and French Presidents on August, 12 at negotiations in Moscow.

Earlier, the Kremlin has stated that it expects Georgia to confirm its commitment to sign the conflict settlement principles, and Russia will sign the agreement as a mediator after Tbilisi, the "Gazeta.Ru" reports. This statement was made by Natalia Timakova, press secretary of Russian President.
