Resident of Kabardino-Balkaria complains of being forced into false testimonies

Arsen Guchapshev, a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, has complained to the Department of Own Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the KBR (Kabardino-Balkarian Republic) against pressure on him by certain Chechenov, an operative inspector of the Chegem ROVD (District Interior Unit), who is a member of the investigatory group in charge of disclosing the murder of entrepreneur Murat Mukov.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent learnt from well-informed sources that Arsen Guchapshev complains that Chechenov applied physical influence to him trying to force him to give false testimonies against Kerim Malkarov, who was detained as a suspect of committing the murder.

"Currently, Chechenov is checked by the Department of Own Safety, and for this period his participation in the investigation was suspended," said the source.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has managed to find out that on July 15 Arsen Guchapshev was operated on at the maxillofacial surgery unit of the Republic's Clinical Hospital because his jaw had been broken.
