In Dagestan, family of lawyers suffers from special operation

On July 7, when a counterterrorist operation was conducted in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, a family of a lawyer and a federal judge suffered.

Lawyer Adilgerey Omarov who lives with his family in Khasavyurt has told that at 5:40 a.m. someone started to break the armoured door of his apartment with a sledge hammer. When Omarov opened the door, he was attacked by several armed persons of Slavonic appearance in camouflage, who handcuffed him and put down on the floor. The lawyer's three sons were treated similarly. Only then, he was presented a search order, which ran that Omarov, Said Adilgereyevich, suspected of complicity to militants was hiding in the house.

Mr Omarov's wife, who works as a federal judge of the city of Kizilyurt, objected saying that a search in the house is possible only upon a sanction of the Supreme Court of Dagestan, but nobody paid attention to her words.

According to the lawyer, the search was conducted without witnesses.

Adilgerey Omarov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he was going to go to court, since the search could discredit his name in the eyes of his clients.

Lawyer Omarov is known in Khasavyurt as a person who is defending the interests of detainees accused of complicity to militants or participation in illegal armed formations. In particular, he was an advocate in Gasan Baisultanov's case.
